Leading Spanish bunkering company Vilma Oil Med, part of TFG Marine, welcomed the Maya Cosulich ship this week for her inaugural service
Leading Spanish bunkering company Vilma Oil Med, part of TFG Marine, welcomed the Maya Cosulich ship this week for her inaugural service, marking an important milestone for the group’s operations at the Port of Ceuta and the Strait of Gibraltar.
Delivered following her maiden voyage from Singapore in December 2025, the newbuild IMO II chemical tanker with 7,990 tonnes deadweight is capable of carrying methanol and biofuels up to B100 and features methanol dual fuel capability, as well as a certified ISO 22192 mass flow meter technology.
This state-of-the-art addition to Vilma Oil Med’s fleet substantially enhances logistical flexibility and customer service strengthening their ability to supply both at anchorage and alongside vessels within the port of Ceuta.
The welcome ceremony was attended by representatives from the Port Authorities, the Harbour Master, local agents, surveyors and members of the wider port community, reflecting the strong collaboration that underpins safe and efficient operations in this strategic bunkering hub.
Speaking following the event, Ernesto Fernandez-Maquieira, Vilma Oil Med Director, said:
“The arrival of Maya Cosulich represents another significant step forward for our operations in Ceuta and the wider Strait of Gibraltar. This next-generation vessel enhances our ability to deliver safe, efficient and transparent marine fuel supply, while also positioning us to support the growing demand for alternative fuels such as methanol and advanced biofuels. It underlines our long-term commitment to the port community and to maintaining the highest operational standards in the region.”
