Kenneth Dam attended the ship.energy Maritime Week Americas 2026 conference in Panama
Last week, TFG Marine Director Kenneth Dam attended the ship.energy Maritime Week Americas 2026 conference in Panama, where he joined industry leaders for a panel discussion on the future of bunkering in Latin America. One key question stood out throughout the conversation: is the region moving quickly enough to future proof its bunkering infrastructure?
“At TFG Marine, we are rolling out digital solutions globally, including in the United States and we believe Latin America has a significant opportunity to accelerate its own transition.
The demand for digitalisation is already here, with shipowners increasingly expecting electronic bunker delivery notes (EBDNs), real time emissions data and greater transparency across the supply chain. These are rapidly becoming operational and compliance requirements in leading markets,” said Kenneth.
Kenneth also highlighted how digitalisation can improve both safety and operational efficiency by reducing manual measurements, paper handovers and administrative delays, while helping to build greater trust and transparency across the marine fuels supply chain.
As global shipping continues to evolve, the conversation in Panama reinforced that the future of bunkering will not be defined by fuel supply alone, but by the quality, transparency and digital capability of the supporting infrastructure. Latin America has a clear opportunity to position itself at the forefront of that transition.
